Origins

 

There have been Gorgon’s for eons, beings that comprised of half human and half serpents throughout every culture. Some say the god Set made the first, however the mysterious species of homonus serpens has no definite origin story to explain. However in all their culture there have been hints, little clues of this culture lost in the shroud of time.

 

The world they were born on was a dying world, their numbers almost lost. Their salvation came from the citadel’s creator. He offered the race life, through service guarding a reliquary of the pantheons. The planet was nearly dead, the numbers of gorgons have been bordering in thousands versus the millions that once have occupied the vibrant world. The creator Ophim, and his wife Genora had given the race assured longevity. Through their service of 100 years they are keepers, the only living being allowed in the Citadel, the only sole guard.Throughout time there have been many great Gorgon, Nanas. He is the father of all the guards and the first to take the mantle. Here he was noticed by Zues, after his tenor of guarding the reliquary of divine and ancient items. The other famous greek Gorgons were the three sisters, Stheno and Euryale born on the planet, while their youngest sister was a human gifted or cursed with gorgons blood, Medusa and given less than the assured longevity. She was slain by Perseus, given proof to all the ancient world they could be killed.In the Middle East, the children of Set were sequestered from service and outcasts of the Gorgon species. They were used to try and defile the reliquary but Ophim and Genora had cursed that sect with a bane to celestial metal.

 

Over the eons, they have been prominent in all the cultures around the world. First a hundred years of service then long lived journeys.

 

The Tibetan monks found their monastery in the cavernous tunnels, the ancient Meso Americans saw them as divine beings and worshipped them as gods. There have been so many throughout history, but those are more of the extroverts. They are reclusive and not as angry as the stereotypes more often than not introverts.

 

Cultural Traits: Highly creative, energetic and strong. Through need they have become more a warrior race. They have been known to be a mixture of warrior and forger.

 

Life Time: Initially they lived for 200 years after they reach adult, roughly 218 years. Then as they became immortal in the sense they do not age after adulthood they have an assured longevity.

 

Species: Hybrid Snake-Human Form.

 

Population: The majority of their race are females, the ratio of female to men is 7:3.
